Welcome

Bunkerpictures shows you the heritage of military and civil bunkers, defenses, emergency shelters and refuges of the Second World War 1933 – 1945 and the subsequent period of the Cold War 1945 – 1991.

By visiting and inspecting sites, we gain insight into the locations and structures present. In addition, we photograph the locations and structures to record what is still visible. Bunkerpictures provides insight into the different types of Military Defense, as well as that of the Civil Protection.

We pay attention to “all types of bunkers”, but in practice we focus on:
–  The Atlantikwall, the defensive wall built by the German Third Reich along the Atlantic coast of Europe.
–  All other bunkers and defenses from the Second World War, spread across Europe and beyond.
–  After the Second World War the period of the Cold War arose with great political and military tensions between “West and East being America / Europe and Russia”. During this period, numerous protective measures were built for civilians as well as for public authorities. The Civil Defense of the Cold War has our particular attention, however the military structures are not avoided.

If you have questions, comments or suggestions about Atlantikwall, WWII or Cold War bunker locations, please let us know via our contact form.
