In the Antwerpen harbour area you find several air-raid shelters.
Antwerpen had a lot to suffer in the war from the air raid bombardments both German and Allied. By the end of the war the city was attacked by German V1 and V2 rockets.
The main interest for both parties was the open sea harbour for sufficient incoming resources and army supplies that where needed all the time.
