Utrecht, 24 Oktoberplein
Befehlshaber 1. Sicherungsdivision.

This bunker lies in the city of Utrecht at the 24 Oktoberplein. At this location a large bunker, V149, "Befehlsstand für den Fuhrer der Schnellboote", was built in 1943. The bunker is re-used after the war by the BB (civil protection) and was called "De Hommel".
During the Cold War an extension to the bunker on the entrance site was made. Therefor the  the entrance defence holes were closed and a new entrance in front of it was placed. A safety entrance according ABC hazard specifications, a big canteen, new air and power supply for use in the new "atomic danger" era was built . Also the former German lay out was changed for it is new purpose of being the Command Post for a Civil Defence region.

Since may 2005 there were some messages that concerned the demolishing of the bunker, because of a new road infrastructure. In September 2006, we visited the inside of the bunker, because the city of Utrecht is demolishing the bunker soon.
Finally in June 2009 they really started to destruct  the bunker and we had the opportunity to visit it for the last time and made a new photo shoot in- and outside the bunker.
