Bordeaux, Blanquefort.

This location lies in the village Blanquefort, north of Bordeaux. In the village take the D210 in the northern direction. The bunker is located next to a roundabout, in the northern side of the village.
The bunker is firmly closed but you can still see the entrance/exit for the gun.

Bordeaux, U-Boat Bunker.
AOK 1, KVA E, KVU-Nord, KV.Gr. Bordeaux, Bo 42.

In the city Bordeaux drive on the highway A630. In the centre of Bordeaux take exit 4c, in the direction of Bacalan. Then follow the signs Base-Sous-Marines, this is the UBB.

The UBB bunker is located near the water, there are 11 boxes;
Box 1,2,3 and 4 are 105m long and 20m wide and there is room for two boats.
Box 5,6,7 and 8 are 105m long and 14m width and there is room for one boat.
Box 9,10 and 11 are 95m long and 11m width and were dry-docks. The boats were repaired here.  

As you can see there is a tower next to the bunker. This was the power station, 73m long, 58m width and 23m high. On the north side is another big bunker. This was the fuel depot, 3040m3 and 15m high. It could store 4million gallons of fuel. There were more bunkers built around the base, but they were destroyed after the war. You also find a turning-bridge on this location, it is the original one.

The base is open for public, on certain dates and times.
On the day we were there, the base was closed because of the summer holidays. So inform beforehand visiting the place. The picture time is longer if you visit the base.
