Croquelleville-en-Bessin, Point du Hoc.
AOK 7, KVA H1, KV.Gr. Caen, KVU Gr. Percée, Bttr. 2./H.K.A.A.1260 Stp. 75.

This is the famous rock from the Normandy landings in June 1994 that was attacked by the American Rangers.
Just a little bit north of the city Grandcamp-Maisy, driving over the D514 you have to bent of between the village La Montage and Saint-Pierre-du-Mont towards the coast, but there are enough signs pointing you to Point du Hoc.

Now a days the location is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission, what you can see in the way the location is set up. They are also doing heavy reconstruction works at the rock, the actually Point du Hoc, while it is in great danger, because the sea is taking more rocks away every year. The R636 on the point is in danger of falling down. Because of the reconstruction works we couldn't visit the 636 and other bunkers behind fences.
