Le Grand Hameau

This battery can be found at the southwest side of the airfield of Octeville, north of Le Havre.
The battery is located at the Chemin Rural at the grounds of a police rifle-range. The complex is normally closed but we were lucky that we could visit the bunkers. The two casemates, type 688, are in a poor condition but still looks impressive. We have found an underground tunnel system that was used to carry ammunition from a 134 ammunition bunker to the casemates. There was also a heavily damaged L411A for a 60cm searchlight. We have also find an unknown bunker that was fully covered with earth and we couldn't identify him, a few hundred meters to the north we also discovered a unknown bunker that was fully covered. In the area we also found a Vf. ammunition bunker that belonged to another battery that has never been finished.
