Den Haag, Plein 1813 nr 2.
WBN, KVA Dordrecht, Den Haag, German military or governmental service.
Cold War, Emergency shelter for the Dutch Foreign Minister.

In the governmental city of Den Haag at the square called "Plein 1813" with lots of big majestic houses of the past, still lies behind one of the houses a small air-raid shelter "Luftschutzraum".
This house was used during WWII by some German military or governmental service. Lot's of other buildings around the square where also claimed by the Germans and they build several bunkers to protect the staff.
This house was used during the Cold War by the Dutch Foreign Minister. Mr. Joseph Luns. He was in office during a long time of the Cold War and at that time with many international tensions.
It is a small and lightly built shelter with an entrance, main room, storage facility room and a corridor with an emergency exit. It is possible that during this period the bunker was still usable in case of a sudden incident and was therefore probably slightly modernist.

P.s. This text is corrected 22/07/2013. It's a German and not a Cold War bunker.
