Maarssen, Machineweg.
Dutch defence line from 1940, Vesting Holland, Front Oost, Maarssen, Machineweg.
Driving along the river Vecht, on the east side over the Zandpad close to the village called Maarssen, you can turn of into the Machineweg. Along this road on the first corner you will find a Pyramide bunker standing in a meadow surrounded by trees. In the back behind a white house stands another one, that can be seen is better if you go back to the Zandweg.
Further along the Machineweg, near a water pumping station, stands another Pyramide bunker next to the dike. From here you go another 200 meters towards to crossing with the Veenkade and the Middenweg, and there you see a "double Pyramide bunker" standing on its foundationpoles. This is a very exceptional building, two Pyramides fixed together and now a days standing "high" on the concrete poles.
