Wassenaar, Wassenaarseslag.

At the north side of Den Haag/Scheveningen lies the village of Wassenaar. It has an entrance to the beach at the Wassenaarseslag.

At this point there are some remains left, but most of them are covered with sand and are behind barbed wire, where you are not allowed to come.
The restaurant "de Badmeester" lies on the former bunker for a for Pak 4,7cm anti tank gun. A little bit more inland and along the walking/cycle path, lies a bunker that was a kitchen combined with a water storage. Some parts of the building are demolished. Just beside this building is an other water storage building situated.
When you follow the walking path for about 300 meters, you see on the right the observation tower, which was built together with a Vf52a bunker. You are not allowed to enter this terrain!
In the same area there are still more objects located and connected with each other by tunnels and corridors. In the winter time there are bats housing here and because of some bad construction parts of the tunnels, visits are not longer possible.

Wassenaar, Rijksdorp.
WBN, KVA Amsterdam, Freie Küste Katwijk-Scheveningen.

This location is situated between the Wassenaarslag- Vleysmanlaan- van der Doeslaan and is called "Rijksdorp". The complex contains several Baupunkten: 200, 201, 203 and 202 is actually outside the complex at the other side of the Wassenaarslag. Bpt 202 is the area marked as "G" on the map also called "de Klip".

The area was a piece of coast between Stp.Gr. Katwijk and the special location Stp.Gr. Scheveningen. Therefore the Germans needed a location for some HQ's for a Regiment and a Artillerie Abteilung, combined with additional bunkers and a hospital bunker (Sanitätsunterstand). Later on there were also Luftwaffe units stationed.

After the war, around 1950, the complexes where "claimed" by the Ministry of Defence and specially by the Air Force, to get a War Headquarters and later a Communication centre in the NATO network. Therefore many bunkers were changed or modified for use during the Cold War area till 1976.
Then the big bunkers were transformed into an "emergency headquarter" for one of the government ministries.
Now a days the bunkers are empty or used a "bats shelter" or used by tenants.

You are not allowed to enter this area and there are big animals walking freely. We got invited by one of the tenants of some bunkers to visit and take a sneak view at the complex.

This Baupunkt is one of the Bpt. that was used for the Regiments headquarters.

Types:
1x 117a Battalion & Regimental battle headquarters. Bau nr.7236, Map H18.
1x Fa water storage. Map H17.

Wassenaar, Rijksdorp- de Klip.
WBN, KVA Amsterdam, Freie Küste Katwijk-Scheveningen, Artillerieabteilungsgefechtsstand, Bpt. 202.

On your way up to the beach entrance at the Wassenaarseslag, you will pass on your right and left hand side some other bunker complexes. When going left on the roundabout you see on your left some meadow in a lower landscape and after 500 meters you see a service road to the left. Bpt 202 is the area marked as "G" on the map also called "de Klip".

In this area behind barbed wire lies the former Baupunkt 202 with a Artillerieabteilunsgefechtsstand. You are not allowed to enter this area and there are big animals walking freely.

After the war during the Cold Ware era this complex, called "De Klip" was first used by the Dutch Air Force and later on when the Air Force left the complex it was a "Noodzetel" (crisis centre) for the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports (WVC)
