Grts | ||||||||

| Nice site! You should visit Leusden again. There are many more bunkers on the Aschatterkeerkade very close to "Het Sluisje"! | ||||||||

| What a fantastic Website thanks Bunkerpictures, Sadly to find that the Mayor of Wissant Pas- de- Calais still has plans to demolish the Pommern Battery this is a great example of the Atlantic Wall and should be preserved. A must see if your in this part of France before it becomes distant history. Visited Raversijde open air museum of the Atlantic wall in Belguim last week what a great museum just down the road from Ostend. | ||||||||

| Thank you for lots of great info as well as superb pictures. I"ve something to add from the Norwegian section. There are grave errors, describing Torpedo shelter, or Torpedobattery of Almenningen/Vemelsvik. This Battery was combat ready already May 20th, 1940.Six weeks after the German invasion. I"ve some pictures of the entire building, from the seaside as well as taken from shore(side). The roof was very much there, a chimney is clearly visible also. The installation had cammo nettings spent across it, hiding it from air perspective. I"ve a picture shot while the torpedo leave the tube, action picture. It never came to sinking an enemy ship throughout the war, though. The German established 15 torp.batteries all over Norway during war time. Many of those were huge, massive ones, blasted into rocks. The visible facade close to the ocean, was always built in concrete A standards. All the fjords of Norway were secured by these St. torpedo batteries, in addition to regular coastal batteries. | ||||||||

| By chance I found your fantastic website while researching a trip to Brittany and Normandy. As my main focus are the less frequently visited & commercialized German fortifications along the coast, your website was the perfect match. Thank you for providing such good instructions to find the sites as well as a large collection of added photographs. Thank you again for all the effort and work you have invested to make this possible. | ||||||||
