Nijmegen, Lent.
The village of Lent, that's now a days is a part of Nijmegen, lies at the west side, on the other end of the Waal bridge.
Because of the bridge for car traffic and a nearby railroad bridge, the Dutch army built around 1935 several bunkers to protect those bridges and to stop the enemy at the river crossing.
One bunker is lying behind the dike and is therefor two stories high to look and to shoot over the dike. A other one is situated in straight line looking over the bridge. Now a day the bunker lies only two meters from the highway from Nijmegen tot Arnhem.
At the railroad track near the bridge over the river there is a special type of a Dutch model MG post. It is looking straight over the bridge over the railtrack. Today there is a pedestrian and bicycle road made at the other side along the bunker.
