The Menno van Coehoorn Foundation is a national volunteer organization that has been working since 1932 to preserve historic fortifications such as city gates and ramparts, fortifications, forts, casemates, positions and lines.

The Military Heritage Foundation is committed to the preservation and restoration of our military heritage such as forts, casemates, bunkers, protected shelters from the Cold War, inundation facilities and the cultural landscape that has been set up for this heritage.
The Oranjekanaal is located directly on the Maasdijk (N220). During the Second World War, the German occupiers built here his heaviest defense of the Landfront of the Hook of Holland Fortress, ‘Theorem 33’ (Wn 33 H). This position had the role of defending access to the Fortress and the headquarters in the Staelduinse Bos against an allied attack from the country.

Stichting WO2 Goeree-Overflakkee - Bunkerroute
From the east side (Stellendam) to the west side (the Punt), Goeree was also built along the coastal strip with large divergent fortifications and positions. A heavy infantry support center was built at the Punt. This location was strategically very important, because from there the cannons covered the entrance of the Grevelingen between Goeree and Schouwen.
The German 15th Army at the Atlantikwall
This website offers an in-depth analysis of one part of the Atlantikwall, namely that occupied by the German Fifteenth Army or Armeeoberkommando 15. This command was stationed along the southern Dutch coast (from Walcheren to Cadzand), the entire Belgian coast, and the northern French coast (from Bray-Dunes to Cabourg).
