Berlin, Flakturm Volkspark Humboldthain

WW – Germany – Berlin – Volkspark Humboldthain.
Flakturm – Luftschutz.
1...45

From October 1941 to April 1942, this Flakturm was built in Volkspark Humboldthain with its associated bunker. The bunker that’s left had a capacity for 15.000 persons to take shelter during the bombardments.
The bunkers were also blown up several times after the war until May 1948 by the French troops and covered with rubble. Since the passing on the mountain railway line of the Ringbahn was not allowed to be damaged, the northern part of the bunker is still visible today and in the context of a tour of the club Berlin Underworlds walkable.
